My Dancing Fairies

Grace always inspires Sienna... Notice how dark Sienna's hair is getting!

Also, Grace is modeling her new tutu from Grandma Parker, and her new ballet slippers and leotard from Mom and Dad. Thank you for making her outfit complete, Grandma! The Tiara was Sienna's gift to Grace for Christmas.

Like Father, Like Son

Here are my two darlings in their Sunday suits and ties! Look at all Jim's hair!

KungFu Panda: 4 thumbs up

Yes, this is a good movie. It is Quotable.

Now my girls are practicing "Kung Fu" on Royal and me.

Of course, there are objectionable items in the movie. Grace mentioned to me that Poe (the Panda) lied to his father about the subject of his dreams. Poe also uses the word suck, sucked and sucking, which are phrases I consider unsuitable for children. Master SheeFu also says "Shut up, Idiot!"

Overall, it is clean, with no immoral innuendo or suggestion. We have 2 adult thumbs and 2 kid thumbs up for this movie.

An Ode to Exercise

I'm doing 8 minutes in the morning, the original workout with some customization, right now.

I get it in about 80 percent of the time.

I love being fit. And, exercising is usually worth it. Sometimes I enjoy it, sometimes I don't, but it is worth it.

Also, one of my goals for 2009 is (yes, unveiled just for you, *gasp*) to get my whole family more aerobically fit. Now you know.

Our upgraded vehicle

Well, Friends, I have good news! We purchased a home and a "new" vehicle in the same month! NOT too smart.

Anyway, I love my new car. I have a CD player! Power locks! I even have a keyless-entry-clicker-thingie! Oh, I am so lucky! It is shiny silver, and holds 2 extra people!

New Ward Chorister and Music Person

Elizabeth received a call to serve as ward music director and ward music overseer-person-thingamajig. (Can't remember the other title, but I'm supposed to oversee all music callings in the ward.)

Yea! Sounds like a great excuse to collect a free used piano! (Any day now....)

A Royal Update

Royal has been well for very few days since he had surgery (a month ago).

His back has mended remarkably well, except for his incessant coughing. He is on antibiotics for Bronchitis. Coughing strains the back... All prayers are welcome.

He hasn't missed any days of work, miraculously.

His attitude is great, and he has just received a call to serve in the ward! (Can't tell yet.) He is fixing little things on the house every day. He loves his job, and he has good days and bad days with that.

Coming Soon: "Public" School

We are working on getting an occupancy permit. That means we pay the government to inspect our home to make sure it is up to their standard, and then we agree to fix everything they say.

I saw a sign in a Neal Boortz book, "Don't Steal; The Government does not like competition."

Lucky for you, that is all I will say about that.

When we have complied to the government's satisfaction, I will register Grace in a government school. She will there be instructed by a Union Employee who is paid by the government to teach the subjects the government mandates. (Have I gone mad? Perhaps.)

I will even consider placing Sienna in a part-time government pre-school. I have heard the government even pays for religious pre-school programs here! That would be preferable.

Life Delays, uh, I Mean, Experiences

Royal had a last-minute back surgery on Dec 23. We got home from hospital Christmas Eve, and he will start work on Monday, Jan 5. My Dad flew in to take care of the kids. Thank you, Dad!

I drove to Atlanta on Dec 31 to pick up a new vehicle. Thank you, Donny! Got back last evening.

My Dad left this morning.

So, between Closing on our house and Back Surgery we haven't had much time to stop and think, let alone blog.

Happy New Year! This is one of my favorite times of the year... I get to set some new goals! So, friends, let us enjoy this season of renewal.
